Cantata 2017 ~

Rehearsals start Sunday 3rd September

Hi friends. Excited for Sunday our 1st practice. Planning to listen through the music together and start teaching “Heart’s Waiting” and “Here we come a carolling”? Don’t worry if you don’t have a CD yet, planning to give them out on Sunday. I know a few of the old faithful singers from cantatas past are bowing out for this year and you will be missed.  Please try and encourage as many people to come along and find out more if you know anyone who you think may enjoy. Especially altos and sops. Great to have new folks already on board. Remind me below who reads music and who just needs words. Picking up the printed scores tomorrow

Dates for the cantata performances will be December   Friday 8th, Sat 9th and Sun 10th Dec

Evening Services 2017

As of 19th February, there is going to be a new focus for the evening services.

1st Sunday of the month.  This service will include the sharing of stories about what God has done or is doing in people’s life’s. This will normally be in the form of an informal interview. The service will also include some sung praise, videos, prayer and a message from the Bible.

2nd Sunday of the month. The main focus of this service will be  communion where we remember the death of Jesus. Communion will be central and the service will often include prayer, reflection, video, a short message  and some sung praise

3rd Sunday of the month. This service will be a more contemporary service aimed particularly at the millennial generation. It will include a more contemporary worship style and message. The service will at times be interactive and use video, reflective images and drama.

4th Sunday of the month. As part of this service we will engage with a culturally relevant topic or follow a sermon series as we consider how the Bible speaks today. This service will also include some sung praise, videos and prayer.

We first published this post in May 2015 and since then things have got worse not better ….!

The Need

We need 3…. Having three individuals on for each service allows us to do some training, keeps the stress levels down, and ensures we are prepared and ready to switch on when Rae stands up.  Continue reading New Techies?
