Title: God’s Grief

Text: Genesis 6
This week we are looking at the how destructive sin is, how it spoils, spreads and separates us from God. At the same time we also see in this passage how it grieves God. God decides to deal with sin, and yet in the middle of His righteous wrath He also shows incredible grace by rescuing Noah and his family. Noah stands as an example of the same mercy God shows to us in sending His Son to rescue us from the coming righteous judgement against sin.

Title: Finding Refuge

Text: Genesis 7

Overview: In Genesis 7 we are confronted with the reality that God is not an inactive God. He is not absent and He cares more than we could ever imagine. And yet, even when God brings His judgement, He also brings His method of rescue. Noah was not a perfect man, we will see that later after the flood, but he had faith in God and it was that faith, made so evident in Noah’s obedience to go into the ark, that resulted in his rescue. The message for us today is the same, God hates sin more than we could imagine, and yet in His love for us He sent His only Son to be our rescue if only we would receive His message and believe in Him.
